What Is Attendance Allowance?
Attendance Allowance is a tax-free benefit for people aged 66 or over who need help with personal care or supervision due to a physical or mental health condition.
Crucially, it is not means-tested - your income and savings do not affect your eligibility. You do not have to spend the money on care; you can use it however you wish.
Who Can Claim?
You Must Be
- Aged 66 or over
- Needing help with personal care or supervision for at least 6 months
- Habitually resident in the UK, or covered under certain EU regulations
- Present in GB for at least 2 of the last 3 years
